ARRA Section 1511 Certification
Dear Mr. Smith,
Pursuant to Section 1511 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009,
P.L. 111-5, I hereby certify for the Bristol Bay Borough that the following described ARRA infrastructure investment has received the full review and vetting required by law and that as the Chief Executive Officer of the Bristol Bay Borough, I accept responsibility that the infrastructure investment for the Port of Bristol Bay is an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars.
The Port of Bristol Bay, located at Naknek, Alaska, will be enhanced through the addition of new dock equipment. The total cost of the equipment is estimated at $2,800,000, and is being funded in part by a U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration ARRA grant in the amount of $2,240,000. The grant award requires a 20 percent match and the Borough will provide total matching funds of up to $560,000 for this equipment.
The above certification will be posted on the Bristol Bay Borough website and linked to the website established by Section 1526 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act identified as www.recovery.gov. I will provide the EDA-ARRA Project Manager with a link to our website upon posting the certification. I understand that ARRA grant disbursement cannot be processed until this ARRA requirement is satisfied.
